The meaning in the name
In Persian, the ney is a reed flute. On its own it's a hollow reed cut from the riverbank, and it makes no sound. When someone breathes into it and pours their whole soul through it, it sings, and everyone stops to listen.
Each of us is a little like that reed. We carry a sound that's waiting for breath: our voice, our potential. When we bring it to life we become notorious for it. People know us, remember us and can't ignore us.
The philosophy: find your core
I believe everyone has a core: the place where their talents, their passion and their values and purpose meet. Most of us only ever live in one or two of those circles. The work of a lifetime is to find where all three overlap.
Let the inner beast out and play your Ney
Finding your core is only half of it. A ney doesn't sing when you hold your breath. You become NeyTorious when you let the inner beast out and play your Ney: you let your voice be heard and let yourself be known for who you really are.
